Amy Colgan-Niemeyer

I was born with spina bifida, so I know what it's like to deal with hospitals, doctors, medication schedules, feeling like you don't fit in, and so on. It can be challenging, for sure, but it doesn't have to get in the way of your dreams. You have a lot to give and I'm here to help you tap into that.

I also have experience with friend loss due to a variety of circumstances: a friend moved away; I moved away and had a hard time making new friends; a friend distanced herself and I didn't know why. I can also help with these issues: a friend dropped you due to differing values or opinions; your family and female friends don't understand that your best friend is a guy; you dated your best friend, but when you broke up your friendship was never the same, or your friend died.

My motto is "Dream. Imagine. Believe. Achieve." Embrace your dreams, imagine them coming true, believe they can happen, and take steps to achieve your dreams and goals, making them a reality. I used each of these elements to cope with my chronic health issues from the time I was about eight years old. Using my dreams for good, using my imagination for good, believing that I could take what I learned in that dream world/imaginary world and use it to cope and thrive in the real world. And, I can help you learn to do the same. I'm here to guide you toward a more satisfying, happy, and balanced life. I offer a variety of coaching packages and conduct coaching by phone, Zoom, Skype, and/or email.

I am a Fowler International Academy of Professional Coaching-certified life coach specializing in chronic health issues coaching. In addition, I have a BA in Sociology/Human Services, and AAS degrees in Community Service Assistant and Business/Office Technology.

I also tutor ESL individuals looking to tweak their English skills in order to improve communication and social skills, build confidence, and advance in the workplace.

I started writing health- and fitness-related articles for newspapers and magazines in 2004. My articles have appeared in Spina Bifida Association of America's "Insights Into Spina Bifida" magazine, and on In addition, I have contributed to the journal, "Pediatric Clinics of North America," done high school sports profiles for community newspapers in my native New York State, and written nutrition and fitness articles for, a supplement price comparison website. Some of my articles are available on Constant Content. I also have provided online project assistance for a Salt Lake City-based personal training and consulting company. I was a NASM Elite Trainer on and provided online fitness coaching to participants in a weight loss medication study.

I live in St. George, Utah with my husband, Jim, six cats, and a parrot. Interests include reading, fitness, attending community theater productions, volunteering, and travel.
